Social InjusticeA Poem by Diamond Dunbar
They tell you do this and you can get that but they don't tell you that the odds are against you because your black.
I mean why on earth would anyone want to admit that? Trying to justify your means of preference to show me the thoughts I've accumulated was far more too dramatic. Separate but equal, maybe you meant equivalent. Although it's barely adequate. Yet if we advance without the white man he does everything in his power to grab control or dismantle the establishment. Basically what I'm saying is the system is created to keep you at the bottom of it. Forced to abide by laws of the descendants, whose ancestors brought some of our ancestors on a ship. I don't know about y'all but I don't think this nation really stand for s**t. Big white bullies in tuxedos playing with our lives like a game of chess. Gambling with cities and states as if the people in them don't exist. Trying to find unity in this world but when it's every man for himself how we gone join hands? I understand the resistance when you fear of walking this earth again. It's not about being a hero it's about taking a stand. If you don't believe in being treated equal then tell the world what you do believe in. You got to be twice as good to find your way. That's the disadvantage your born with when you have black blood in your veins. It's levels to the subtle hate that they show, apparently the lighter your skin the easier your chances are. Although they'll never accept you for who you are, your just easier to blend because you aren't dark. I mean who really wants to admit they play a role in the systematic injustices that's in place. Don't worry you won't have to acknowledge it if you ignore it anyway. © 2017 Diamond Dunbar |
