Life and Me

Life and Me

A Poem by Diamond Dunbar

Time has passed me by...

Found myself in the same spot asking why...

Different day, same s**t. If life was a job I swear I'd quit.

Taking on everyday with a smile on my face.

Yet as soon as I'm alone I take the mask away.

There I stand and there I see that no matter where I go, I just can't escape me.

Me, a person that I'm dying to be.

Spent nights crying just to breathe.... Breathe clearer and openly.

Every morning I am asked "is this the day, you set yourself free or will you come home and fall to your knees? "

My reply is simply and daring as can be, "I don't know life, let's just wait and see. "
