One pill

One pill

A Poem by Diamond Dunbar

I told myself not to make a habit out of things that hinder me.

Yet here I am again holding the key to being pain free.

No not forever but for the day you see.

One swallow and I can forget it all.

All it takes is one pill just to not feel.

Take my mind to paradise, place my body in euphoria.

Let nothing, hold weight on me. Let nothing, stop me.

All it takes is one pill just to not deal.

One swallow for my hollow thoughts.

Don't get greedy because you know that the consequences are true.

That night in October, remember when you said f**k it?

And you swallowed as many as you could till you went numb.

They revived you and look at you now.

Holding the key to being pain free.

Not for forever but for the day you see.

Just one pill to chill.

One swallow as the night follows.
