I am in pain.

Not the kind you can see, this pain is internally.

I am hurting.

I know it isn't visible but believe me.

I am fucked up.

And not off drugs you see, its life that has simply gotten to me.

I think we might all know this feeling. Though some people might be hurting more than others but it is cruel to compare, one can never really get inside someone. It's interesting you mentioned drugs, I think drugs are a way to escape a fucked up life for many people, the problem is drugs make it worse, creating a vicious circle. It's not the drugs or any things that mess with one in the first instance, it's just life (including people, because we're the creators of life)
Life itself is the cause.
