Felt his pains

Felt his pains

A Poem by Diamond Dunbar

I am not worried if you find someone better.

I don't consume my thinking on foolish things.

I am worried you'll never get the love your hurting soul desires.

Ya know that love that made you run and hide because it showcased your flaws beautifully in front of me.

I'm still that same girl, who embraced your imperfections and gave no rejections.

You always said this the first time for almost everything I did.

It almost hurt my soul, to know the man I was loving was living in pain.

A pain I knew so deep, before I knew it I was trying to help you.

Not once stopping and asking myself does he even want to be helped.....

I got my answer from the loneliness that still sleeps in my room.

The only thing willing to comfort me.

This is a good read with spots of brilliance. This has a great sound, as well as being meaningful: "embraced your imperfections and gave no rejections" . . . Here's a golden piece of insight: "Not once stopping and asking myself does he even want to be helped." A rare & original thing to address, concerning love - the way it just kills to watch one's beloved struggle, but knowing they don't want help. You are one to watch becuz (1) you take the time to construct good writing, and (2) you have eyes that see life in ways that are unique & interesting.

I can hear it in your writing how painful it feels to have lost that love, and it is a very raw and powerful feeling, and that you still care for him. You did a great job portraying that in this poem.
