Singing to my demons

Singing to my demons

A Poem by Diamond Dunbar

Hey, life I'm still holding on.

But you didn't think I could sing another song.

Dance another day because last night I couldn't even look me in my face.

I was back in that dark place and you already know I had the blades.

I was the dead girl going on another escapade.

Letting that blade dance against my skin, I remember when I said I wouldn't do this again.

Oh how my bones clinch, damn damn I love it. Gone head and let the blood drip.

I've got another one in my grip, just in case it doesn't give the right snip.

My Suidical song is coming along, its my demons favorite song.

Your writing about cutting is so vivid & realistic, I'm afraid to ask if this is fiction or not. I love the subtle use of the word "blade" . . . at first a little cryptic, but gradually being unveiled in it's gory glory. In the beginning, the narrator sounds strong & defiant, but then slowly succumbs to the lure of pain & suffering, making it sound like something to be proud of, a proud song of suicide. As twisted as this sounds, I know it's the truth for far too many people.

Got some passion in that s**t. Depressing as hell but it's got that human feeling all good writing has. Don't kill yourself, you have awesome tits sweet nips... don't deprive the human race of that. Nice tities don't just grow on trees you know...

Lol thanks I'll remember that. Can't let these go to waste. Ha
What a powerful, deep ride into the soul. I lived what seems like forever in a fierce forest of night, so I can relate to your suffering song. Whispering music on the winds so you can dance again. xo

Dark and maybe courageous one. "It's my demons favorite song" is a well written line.
