The Cliff

The Cliff

A Poem by thedarkrocket

When time guides my heart, the fear overcomes me, rendering me still
Gravity that pushes me closer to the cliff I deeply despise
The desperate fall holds just as much power, crushing all my might with jaded intent
Whispers of the fall breaks the barrier of sound, a short stint of bliss

The cliff speaks of love to the hopeless with ease, filling deaf ears with promise
With each new step guiding me to the edge, hope is less of my hearts concern
Into the cold night you have seen your love break down under your beautiful life
This beauty I speak of is shining a moon into the shadows of my void

I'll follow the moon, it's light bringing me back from leading fear into my path
The heart that holds your love will live to push the darkness out
In truth the cliff is like the sky, a secret world where stars roam free
Wishing to shoot love across the wall that stands between the heart and soul

I can't fear falling from the cliff, the beauty of night is led by your smile

This is universal romance at it's best.. The thought of believing in and following the beauty of a smile is romance at it's best..x
