How The Heart Behaves

How The Heart Behaves

A Poem by thedarkrocket

Fragile and tender, sometimes utterly useless
Was this the intent of our designed heart
Submitting to emotions and open armed deceit
Its second nature, but maybe nature is wrong

If nature is wrong and instinct is sound
My lips speak more than your heart can comprehend
The only thing above what the heart holds within
Is the intent of the world placed upon it

This moment in time has betrayed your trust
A trust in a concept that was meant to provide comfort
So often we put faith in love notwithstanding
But love will always be as pure as the ocean wave

The mist of the breeze coming off the sunrise
Dancing on your face as the warmth meets your skin
A perfect moment for eternity of unbiased time
A righteous dream submerged in a sea of wrongs

Love isn't perfect whether within or expressed
For the heart in nature was born to misbehave
To describe the wonder that rests within your heart
Is like life being born to the sun above the stars
