Blue

Blue

A Poem by thedarkrocket

If there’s a down, there’s an up
Two sides to a coin, a half full cup
A measure of faith by standard keeps the heartache lined with hope
If only for a moment we could find a way to cope
But I suppose it’s just a matter of time
Despair creeps up the spine, only to leave us blind
Less inclined to speak our mind and reveal what is true
At the end of the day, the heart is left feeling blue

A touch of sky seen in your eyes, endless possibilities
A flow of peace in your essence, absolute tranquility
Strength like ocean waves crashing the shore with delicate care
Elegant words spoken like the wind in your blue hair
A perfect shade of handmade beauty in all its depth
And when the glitter and gold has left, a captivated heart remains kept

If time made a promise, hands bound by honor on a whim
Then today holds no power over a future far less grim
If hope molds like glass, so easily shattered
Broken dreams are made to show that time never really mattered
But if it does, we are the lucky ones, seeing it through
Eyes open, incessantly hoping, until all we see is blue
