Just To See You Smile

Precious time alone can make the heart grow weary

Nearly every time I think of you, I see it more clearly

That being apart does no good, whether an inch or a mile

I would do anything and everything, just to see you smile

Move mountains? No problem, I’d even split the earth in two

A quake of epic proportions, most certainly that would do

If the sun is what you seek, I’ll wrap my arms around the fire

And lay the star before you, if thats what you desire

I’ll bake your favorite pie, although thats not really my style

But again, as you know, anything to make you smile

It hurts to know the pain that you endure

If theres a cure, I’ll find it, keep it safe and secure

Im sure theres a solution to this unending trial

Theres no problem I wont solve, if thats what makes you smile

The waves keep crashing as sullen time continues passing

And I’m asking myself how to keep your world from collapsing

A magician has his magic to dazzle and electrify

I would try, but we both know its an illusion, a lie

But that won’t stop me, theres so much more that I can do

Theres a whole world to be seen, in time I will show you

Some may say I'm crazy, most likely in denial

Let me repeat, it doesn't matter, if in the end you smile

To hell and back I would go, if only just to show

How much I care about you just in case you didn’t know

The list is endless, possibly infinite, too much to compile

All the reasons I’d risk it all  just to see you smile

Patience is not my virtue, how on earth could I wait?

Too much to be done, no time to sit and contemplate

Its not my fate to sit back and see how life is to unfold

Nothing is left to chance and no story to be left untold

If thats too bold, oh well, I must shake the ground around you

I must take the life you’ve known, break the mold and astound you

Its easy to believe my words are simply an exaggeration

Lost on those who believe I’ve slipped into my imagination

But imagine for a moment that this was all worth your while

I’d do it all again if somehow this made you smile
