Blackheart

Blackheart

A Poem by thedarkrocket

Love and war accepts all fair game,  but it's a shame
Nothing left in the rubble of tremors, not a whisper, not a name
Not the same stain as before, bleeding heart being ripped apart
And it starts when two souls begin wishing on shooting stars
From first sight to the last light the heart stumbles through fight or flight

Who is she,  what's your name?
You're beautiful, was that lame?
Where are you from,  where are you going?
I could die right now, is it showing?
Am I boring or do I flatter?
Does any of this really matter

But it does, to a life of pain that has just begun
To a life of misery that comes second to none
Open heart gives way to open wounds, the cut flows deep
I reap what I sow as my soul is too dark to keep
As a matter of fact, it doesn't matter, it's just a fact
That I lack the light within, I've succumb to a heart of black
And lost track, but found peace as the hatred increased
As the humanity and empathy decreased, as love withdrew it's lease
You can never love what you can't trust
Which is why I've resorted to lust, and let the rest fade and rust
As the pain grows, the hate flows, indifference breaks the cage and shows
The face with no remorse, stone as if the hands of time froze
I must confess that aggression has brought digression to the stress
There's less of a dilemma now that I've laid my heart to rest
Buried deep below a life that blinds with the light that I lack
No love lost for the cost of love, my heart forever engulfed in black
