The Name That Haunts

The Name That Haunts

A Poem by thedarkrocket

Just as the sun will rise at dawn, my heart continues beating for you
Easily broken, the heart can shatter, a million pieces left without a clue
Next to no one, you stand on your own, beautiful as the moon on the sea
Nobody ever has filled my heart with such light, causing the darkness to flee
If I could hold time in a bottle, I would make you my past, future and present
For I know time would be best spent with you, a troubled life becoming pleasant
Ever so slightly my perspective has changed, my world falling into place
Reality isn't so bad after all, but I'll continue dreaming of your embrace

Gollum obsessed over one ring for years, am I to meet a similar fate
One ring to rule them all, you're far beyond any other potential mate
Love is underrated and nearly forgotten, but in my heart it still prevails
Doves are lovely in their nature, but I prefer the siren of a Gale
Beacons of light surround your face, forever you are glowing
End of the tunnel there is a light, my hope to have you continues growing
Caution thrown to the wind, I'll take the dive, for there is nothing left to fear
Kept in my heart you'll always be, when yours cries out I'll always be near
