Death of InnocenceA by The Dark LordThere was a time when you were small. The world was small. Your needs were small. Your beliefs were small.. You felt the truth and knew the ways that things were done and undone. The colors were few and you understood the world that stood before you. You had an answer to every question, and every answer was not dissimilar to the others. You saw today before the would be, and has been, for now was all there is. You trusted those who fed you truth that fit into this view created for you. Without a soul you wondered through the landscape they create, a place of yes and no, and good and evil. The people are variables, they're interchangeable, and the stories the tell may paint a different picture. We've all been here, where believing in the word(s) of another made us feel safe, complete, whole and good.... innocent.... Welcome back to the proverbial garden....Somewhere along the way, you learned to see pieces of the world you were not meant to see. There were cracks in the story-line. History did not always add up. In the battle between essence and word, you find yourself becoming ever more curious why the pieces don't always fit. With every unanswered question your doubt grows in parallel with your confidence. You begin to feel compelled to understand the images and feelings that came to you in spite of what you're told. As you become oversaturated by curiosity, your need for comfort falls into the background. You begin to not only experience the anomalies; you begin to search for them. As your intuition points you in the direction that your unconscious mind wants you to go, your reasoning for this quest becomes ever more validated. You hunger truth more than comfort and you find a whole new layer of truth beneath the surface that has been hidden from you for some time. © 2008 The Dark Lord |
