I'm of the opinion that we arrive on this planet without an agenda and immediately after getting here people begin to tell you how you should live your life. They make plans for you, schedule you, teach you what they want you to absorb and then expect you to execute their life plan.
For most of us that plan might not be a spiritual fit and we find ourselves questioning in the backs of our minds all the info but still trying to adhere to it all.
Some of us are so busy following the grid that we forget we might have had something original or interesting to contribute that might not have been detailed for us.
If you get busy enough going to school, picking up groceries, buying the beer, attending to day to day meaningless activities you might forget that there was a poem in you, or a song. You might not get time or even think seriously about writing that book.
You might begin to feel guilty about free time. You might convince yourself that if you aren't doing a task on the plan you should feel guilt. You might forget that there is more to life than just the tasks of each day.
I have no real point here, I'm just saying that unless you are a potential serial killer or can't manage to express your true self without hurting others.. you can throw away the plan handed to you and the daily dose of guilt you feel when you don't perform to the expectation of anyone else or even to the one that you inhaled for yourself.. you can throw it away and just live your life one day at a time and enjoy it that way. Toss away the yard stick that you measure yourself against, it was never realistic anyway and only produces guilt.. which if you think about it very long- you will realize that is was mostly an illusion that was handed to you by other brain washed people.
Don't even worry about making mile stones at each birthday. Seriously the age thing has nothing to do with what you should be doing right at this minute. In fact, it only means that you should be enjoying life. No matter what you choose right now, you will age anyway, you will find yourself in the same place and you will only have regret if you wasted any of your awesome youth on doubt and guilt.
