You Are WorthlessA Story by Isaiah DunnNow let me tell you why that is not true.I hate when people think that they are somehow worth less than another human being. Like at some point they just accepted they didn’t deserve someone because they weren’t good enough for that person. Which is a ridiculous thing I have ever heard aside from people that say they’re going to vote for Trump. Nothing on this earth makes one human being worth more or less than another. Your emotions do not make you weak or undesirable. They make you human. Now let me tell you, being human is a beautifully painful thing. One moment you’ll feel like you’re floating on air. Then the next moment the world will be crushing you just enough to keep you alive as you scream for mercy. Except it’s not going to care and it’s just going to kick the crap out of you until you feel like you can’t get up. But that’s the thing about life. There is going to be good and bad. But it’s not always going to be bad and it’s not always going to be good. You’ve got to take your hills with your valleys. But never give up and never ever think you are worthless. Anyone on this planet would be lucky to have you but not everyone on this planet deserves you. So be selective. Surround yourself with those who work for your affection and prove that they will be there when life gets hard. Eliminate all the poison and hate in your life. Yes, that may include going into your brain and accepting the things you may hate the most about yourself. Which can be one of the scariest things on this planet? To finally confront something you’ve tried so hard to hide, forget or even ignore. But when you do you will realize just how stupid those fears actually were. Each human being is incredibly complex and is living a life as dynamic and confusing as your own. So never judge another person because you have no idea what they are going through. Don’t stay mad about the stupid things other humans do. You are the single controlling factor of your life. Nothing can get to you if you don’t allow it. However, there is a difference between not caring and pretending to not care. Soon you lose the strength to pretend. Then you end up curled into a ball dealing with all of your fears and insecurities and you are totally not prepared for how fucked up you actually are. Here’s the thing, though. You aren’t that fucked up. This is just a phase. One day you are going to wake up and it is all going to be ok. So dry your eyes. You’re going to do amazing things. Even if it feels like you can’t get out of this mess. You can, you will. You’re a survivor. The world's already tried to kill you. But you’re still here. So do what you do best. Get up brush off the dirt. Put on that smile that people love to hate and go make this thing called life your b***h. © 2016 Isaiah Dunn |
