Pet Sematary

Pet Sematary

A Chapter by TheConjuringCat

I’d tried to tell him.

He didn’t head my warning.

So now the entire town

Is once again in mourning.

I tried to help the man

Who helped me in life.

My death, it seemed,

Only brought him more strife.

“Not so much as a broken bone,”

He’d told his wife.

And in a way he was right.

That shattered collar bone

Was the last injury of my life.

He’d had to have seen the pattern.

I’m afraid to say it started with me.

I was hit by a logging truck.

Death, it seems, is a truly dreadful place to be.

Well, at least, when the good ol’ doc

Doesn’t listen.

Sometimes he’s as dumb as a rock!

“It’ll work this time!”

But it didn’t!

Louis, you knew it was a crime!

What’s she going to do,

That little daughter of yours?

You know, she’s going to suffer too!

They’ll tell tales about you,

That murder of yours.

And they’ll tell tales about Elli, too.

They’ll say she killed Rachael’s parents, Louis.

And it’ll all be true.

They found her “licking the brains off the knife,”

And, if you think about it, it’s because of you.

You started it, after all.

You didn’t listen.

You led to your family’s fall.

First the cat. Then your son.

You can’t stop now.

Oh, it’s only begun!

Then Jud and Rachael.

It began and ended

With you.

I tried to tell you.

But you didn’t listen.

I love "Pet Sematary" :) The poem was supposed to be told from Victor Pascow's point of view. There are references to both the movie and the book, and a bit from "Pet Sematary 2" which is equally good, for those who haven't seen it. Thank you for reading and please review! :)
