Charis

Charis

A Poem by Gray
"

Moon, hear my plea.

"
Gold and crimson hue
If only I could tell you

My sunless self
Guards lock and key
Secrets in an unlit room

I sing hymns to the moon
And I cry with the breeze
Who carries me to the trees

Into the veil I have
Pleaded your name in threes

You are scrawled in the ink of midnight

One syllable rests
On dew traced veins
And flourishes with first breath

Prismatic dawn hopes to
Light the world as your eyes

Sit beneath the aspen
And hear my whisper

When you search the clouds
I hope you see them
As I see you.
