Breaking through.

Breaking through.

A Poem by Frederick A.

The walls are closing in and I wont be broken again,
Slipping past all I know and all I've been,
Pushing at all that stands in the way holding me In,
I have broken through.

I start anew making this world mine,
I take what I see I keep what I find,
I am not the person you knew,
I have broken through.

Free now I fly, soaring where I never could before,
This world greets me new and reborn,
You see me for what I am now, you no longer look at me with scorn,
I have broken through.

A thousand moments passed me by,
As lay there and all but died,
Reaching out I broke through the darkness finding the light of life in me,
I have broken through.

The veil no longer hiding me in the shadow you cast, I stand for myself,
A new chapter, a new book upon this shelf,
Turning the page, looking in the mirror I hardly recognize myself,
I have broken through.

The chaos and weight of this reality of yours no longer affects me,
The dreams you had are now no longer mine, I carry them no longer,
The fire in your eyes now resides in mine,
The time is right to make a move and push through,
I have at last broken through.
