Waiting like the others

"What do I know?"; is rhetoric- expressing innocentcity of the the speaker exposed to danger by the valiant.

What do I know?
Green like paw paw
Blind like moth on light
Weak like straw
Still in the blanket of care.

What could I do ?
A chick fighting a hawk
An ant warring an elephant
A puppy against a bush- hug
When mother & father not around?!

Nothing, but watch him;
A sheep for sacrifice
A chicken for Christmas
So I have crossed the road
Waiting, Waiting; like the others.

*Lines written Aug 30, 2013 in memory of an eight years old girl rapped to death; but the the perpetrator not found.

Author's Note

The poem expresses the speaker's encounter with violence and its fatality that led to her demised from the world. Its tells of man's wickedness as in murder of the innocent in sexual abuse.
