Nobody knows the trouble I seeA Poem by Rubein GeterminahExpressions of the pains of polygamy in modern society and the unmet love that siblings feel
No body knows the trouble I see?
Or is it they close their eyes and open their ears That they 're not guilty by the mask That grimes and shades my eyes? Nobody knows the agony Of being waken with a name Among a people from variant fire hearths? With no ruth, or is it because I do not fit In and mother who I should turn to Is turning to me as her c**k? So nobody do for I am a mollusk Unable to remove my shell; Even when my tears are turbid and armour? Or is it they're absorbed by the echo, The many echoes of mother's cheeks needing insulation? Since nobody cares about my trouble Before me, the choice is mine To go by the olden law, 'One man one wife'; Or a repetition of their errands that my trouble Double up, an inheritance for them so awkward Their immortal beast for all to see. © 2017 Rubein GeterminahAuthor's Note
