Yana boys on Water Street

Yana boys on Water Street

A Poem by Rubein Geterminah
"

Inspirational, wittiness, Advisory

"
Yana boys on Water Street
Struggling against the Stockton's cold,
Everyday your Christmas
With those nickels and dimes
In the hard hustle of Monrovia.

Yana boys on Water Street
I know it's your sweat
And it's crystal 'no morsel for a lazy man'
And no one gives you bed & woman
But lo before you leap and be sure.

Yana boys on Water Street
The season neighs, the strongest & stoutest
Has sufficient, but upon
You will it be counted
Your errands not on any watchman

But if you resurrect and utilize chances
Knowing where you came from
And where you are going, from examples before you;
When you develop three appendages,
You will need no one to hold your lovehand.

Author's Note

Rubein Geterminah
The poem speaks of the hard struggles everyday peoples face in Monrovia to survive.
And the Yana boys are of no exception.
The difficulties they encounter need not over emphasis but they do generate cash. But many do not wisely utilize this because "everyday their Christmas"; that is, they generate income everyday.
