Days of Jacob's LaborA Poem by Rubein GeterminahRelationship for marriage yesterday was not about sex but mutual respect and good acquaintance before wedlock But our society today's is the opposite.
The two affectionate ones
Could never meet No matter how much covalent They were, for disgrace to come To her parents was the highest ingratitude; So to not break the 'Command with a promise', He traced her man dog to her keeper For the dear sake of benediction. It was an alma matter by then, a pride When going home unpon completion Of the task, a bride's price Or forty- eight dollars cash given; To have legal right to band A blithe moment to return A white cloth to her keepers A pride it was by then. But ah! No white cloth we return, No labor we complete; And no bride's price we pay- But diving on these nannies putting forth kids Careless about benedictions. © 2017 Rubein GeterminahAuthor's Note
