Run to freedom

Run to freedom

A Poem by The-big-L

I wanted to quit, give up, throw in the towel. How can it not be hard when it's so far? How can you stand in the way of my shining star?

Time for a new start.

I'm changing, rearranging this next part. A story of life, love and conquest is in the making.

This chance without a doubt is one I'm taking and this time I won't be mistaking.

An enemy undisguised, unmasked and forsaken.

A woman enlightened, empowered, brave and blaten

Suffocated and put in a box

A box full of distraction, imitations of freedom down to the fraction

Lid lifted by the accident you call misunderstanding

Rigidly relaxed as I relinquished and remitted with love remnant

One Sweet scent of a life without the shackles, I relished what is to happened

In this new light, I RAN

Ran toward the freedom I'd never have

Ran toward me, my identity, ran with all my ability

I stop!!

Ablazed that you led me astray

Acrid box and psychological locks

I put it down and walked away, goodbye box

I'm free at last, I'm me at last

I inhale then exhale

Empty pockets and torn up shoes

Teary eyes and a heart that's bruised

I'm full of hope, I'll cope

I really liked the ending where you came to a sudden stop and cast off the past burdens. It was a wonderful visual!
