RetributionA Poem by The XenologerA poem that I wrote...five years ago. Time sure does fly!
The acid rain swiftly falls
On the decrepit fortress walls. The soldiers who once dwelled Were mercilessly, quietly felled. No enemy attacked the gate Nor disease that was too great. Yet the bodies still remain In the turrets, in the rain. The sounds still echo off the stone The wretched sob, the whispered moan. No escape made easy for the men They clawed and scraped again and again. It gazed at them with contemptuous eyes Ignored their pleas, ignored their cries. It descended upon them in silent speed Their misdeeds paid for, and thus, their greed. No glorious battle, no heroes here. Yet one force did act that was so clear. Their rotten souls created at birth Were of demon make, and demon earth. © 2011 The XenologerReviews
