True words, I know how you feel! Kind of unsure if this is relevant or not, but the repeated use of the word 'distant,' reminds me of a Dr. Seuss poem in a way.

I've often had exactly this thought, almost.... The twist is that there must, in an infinite universe, be infinite numbers of the "me". Your few lines capture this paradox.
