Houxberry, Over the GrassA Poem by Tim SchultzThis was a dream I had on Christmas Eve/morning. A girl named Houxberry kissed me. Houx means holly in French. Her name was Hollyberry, which is mistletoe. My mind was blown! She came around and around, Again and Again Like a top. Over the grass: Gentle touch and Subtle coffee flavor. A peck on my sniffer And a peck on my kisser. Spun-wool sweater, I am warm. Fabric’d in traditional wears Scented of lavender, Glowing like a ruby sun. She twirled, once more. Left a sprig Before she spun away: Berries sweet, Like youthful grace. © 2012 Tim Schultz |
