Asphodel

Asphodel

A Poem by Tim Schultz

This daffodil, not yet bloomed,

Will erupt in a mass of gas and dust,

Emitting a loud boom, ultimately,

Being heard by the Universe:

Becoming a light in the darkness,

Something in the midst of nothing,

And, eventually, wilting away

As all mass, gas, and dust does--

Death meets all things,

Even sunny daffodils.

I enjoyed this poem :) I love that you used a daffodil to create the picture of something perfectly innocent and beautiful coming to its end. Thank you for posting.
