The Beginning

The Beginning

A Poem by Steven Hicks

This single soul
Stares out at the world
Intimidation rises
Frightening thoughts swirled
Scared, to step out
Afraid, to leave home
Turning away, from the road
Wanting not, to be alone
But the journey must begin
The future must be found
The heart pushed forward
Refusing to be bound

Does this have to do with anything with what you told me? But this is kind of sad....it holds a lot of despair and yet there is a tiny bit of hope left in this small poem. It holds so many mixed emotions. It's good...pretty good Steven. You never cease to amaze a fellow writer.
