Reflection

Now that I've gone back through

The happenings of a year

Reminiscence of happiness

And sadness shown in tears

 

The reflection in the mirror

Shows a much different me

Finally released from certain chains

It feels good to be free

 

But I do not regret

Any of those days

Specific chapters of love

Will remain my favorite plays

 

And all my friends that put up with me

I thank you from depths in my heart

Depths I didn't know existed

Until my heart was torn apart

 

This last stanza

Is for you to make your own

Certain different stories

Enabled my heart to be re-sown
