To Whom It May ConcernA Poem by Steven HicksI wrote this for one person in particular but it goes out to all that it applies too. In any way you can take it. Hence the title.Sitting alone in darkness Waiting to be held Mind scrambling for answers Wanting to be felt
Looking for the sunlight Praying it will bring you The darkness has overcome tomorrow I have no idea if I can make it through
The words that give me life Were not given today And I've been encased in darkness Searching for a way
I need to hear you say it But you seem to choose not So instead of doing what I want I shall do what I believe I aught
I will wait Through this endless night In hopes the sun Brings more than light
Because even if I could see I don't know if I want to Not unless I know You're right in front of me
Wanting to be held Just as much as I Feeling without our other We would as soon die
I pray with all I am That you feel this too Whenever the morning comes I'll still love you © 2008 Steven Hicks |
