Rabbit hole

Rabbit hole

A Poem by The Raven King

We have all been so wrong

Happiness comes after the fall

The path to heaven leads below

not above

Love is an ancient God that requires

a blood sacrifice

Lay your heart upon the altar

and be free

Let the fire sear its flesh

Let the blade tear its meat

Let the rain beat down upon it

Let the dark life's blood

stain the stone

Sprinkle the ground with red moons

Hurt til you can take no more

Then hurt til there is no more to take

And when your heart is mishapen and dead to you

Foriegn and strange

Return it to your body

Discover depths never explored

heights never imagined

Hear for the first time

See for the first time

Feel for the first time

The big things are beneath recognition

the small things are all that remain

your ever taken for granted breath

is a clock

Inhaling

the future

Exhaling

the past

Concentrate

breath in

and know

you are alive
