Happiness

Happiness

A Poem by The Raven King

we are all born with a sense of happiness

a pearlescent greenish lavender on the edge of our eyes

somehow evading our rods and cones

an after taste of food eaten only in dreams

imprinted on tastebuds of the mind

a memory never lived

half ethereal half fallacy

a touch of divine tinged with diaboloic

brushing against the skin and leaving a tingle on the spine

We all know happiness

just as we know god

just as we know the devil

just as we know death

they are unknown familiarity

constantly dancing about us

as we stumble through life

trying to catch a glance

a whiff

a touch

a  taste

of that purity of emotion

whether good or bad

to make sense of our

chaos and make chaos of our senses
