Lamia Igneus

Lamia Igneus

A Poem by The Raven King
"

Insanity is the refuge of a guilty conscience

"

My matchsticks! My matchsticks!
The old, rich man proclaims.
Search the houses, the beds,
the forests, the farms, the plains
Without my matchsticks
The children can't dance
In the falling leaves of autumnus!

Tonight! Tonight! The sin must peel
and crack and split and smolder
the lamb is king upon the day
the shepherd rolls the boulder
They, We and I covet you and yours
That's why we are all malice
But we'll raise you high
And there you'll die
Aureus phoenix no mortalis

Confess! Confess!
Absolve us of our crime
Stick your tongue out
at the devil
It is better this way for the
poor always pay
why should matchsticks
have different counsel

insania es refugium redarguo conscientia
