On Irony ... and Humility.

On Irony ... and Humility.

A Story by Creepy Swine Guy
"

You just can't make this stuff up.

"

So I was browsing through profiles tonight and I came across a profile that rubbed me the wrong way. The first line of his Bio arrogantly declared …

“I am a writer... no different from you but I have talent.”

I was raised to have class and display a modicum of humility. This being the case, I was taught that such pronouncements are in very poor taste and should be avoided. So I continue reading and in the very next line and I see that “Mr. I Have Talent” doesn’t know how to spell “conceited”. My Ironi-meter went berserk as I laughed hysterically. You see Dictionary.com defines conceit as … wait for it …

An excessively favorable opinion of one's own ability, importance

Sometimes life just hands the slow-witted over to you on a silver platter.
