My Love

My Love

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy
"

I'm taking this poem out for a test drive. Suggestions offered with a kind heart are always welcome

"

I love a woman who is kind.

She is slow to anger.

And lives life with loving empathy.

She knows right from wrong

And always does the right thing …

Just because it's the right thing.

I think that she’s beautiful,

But you might not.

And that’s okay with me.

Because her beauty is in my eyes

Her eyes are kind. Her hair glistens

In the golden light of dusk

And her smile comes easily ... and often.

Perhaps ... one day ... I'll meet her.

And when he found her she was all home made bread and roses and music too. The perfect symphony of a woman that played the strings of his heart with her gentle loving touch.

Your write is the quintessence of what is important in life...the simple things, they mean the most. Thanks for putting that wonderful thought out there.

She knows right from wrong
And always does the right thing …
Just because it's the right thing.

But isn't the 'right thing' awfully subjective? Who's to say in this life what the exact right thing really is?

Some days I wonder if such a woman really exists.

"Suddenly sad," just like Ed mentioned. I hope you meet her soon so you can take her dancing and for quiet walks under the starry sky. :)

Great test drive. This poem dances on a crystalline tightrope of idealization and good old fashioned adoration. I like the honesty in the voice, and especially the shift in narrative where your eyes go to hers, it's very courtly love poem and 16th century, and those are great shoes to step into, because nobody did it like them. Just lovely.
