Every Poet Writes Those Lines

Every Poet Writes Those Lines

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy
"

Don't we all write this poem in some shape or form.

"

Every poet writes those lines.

The ones that bring the pain.
Stanzas recount every tear,
And they fall again like rain.

Absent loves leave tired hearts
To lie at fitful wake.
Left alone to struggle with
That dull and throbbing ache.

Oh that words returned to us,
Lost days and moments gone.
But Time, she has no pity,
She grimly marches on.

How many are there out there
Who do not have a clue?
They do not know our anguish
They’ve all found loves anew.

So we write, we pray, we hope,
They wonder how we’ve been.
We tell ourselves they'll miss us
As the tears bleed from our pens.

They say that "time assuages,"--
Time never did assuage;
An actual suffering strengthens,
As sinews do, with age.
Time is a test of trouble,
But not a remedy.
If such it prove, it prove too
There was no malady.
--E. Dickinson

We write ourselves on the page. And I see you're having trouble with lost moments and time gone. :-)

When words are written with true emotion, the feelings cannot be masked. They are as alive in the words as you or me. We can always be found out by our writing.

I melted somewhere in this poem, I think it was everywhere.
Your words feel so lonely, and yet I want to read them over again.
I loved this.
I'm keeping this one!!

Well, somebody's got to do it! I just had to make a joke because after reading this - it was 3 times - I liked it better each time. It truly does speak of the heart and soul of a poet. Are our hearts bigger or does it just seem that way? Writing is such an extension sometimes - just a part that needs to move and create. This poem expressed that process so very nicely. Thanks

... 'as the tears bleed from our pen' ... wondrous and an apt describe of a writer... Joseph Brodsky the Russian Poet as well as Orwell and many other writers, tell us that we are witness to the fluids of Truth and reckonings in language and are her guardians of meaning; subtext is the Dream.

The emotional intensity of these lines is staggering! Yes, poets write of loves lost, loves found, of pain and of beauty all around us. Some do not see the things poets see. Be happy you do.....I am because your poetry is a joy to read. The rhythm and rhyme of your words is intoxicating. Lydia

This is rightfully one of your "favorites". Mine too. Very well done. Honest, beautifully penned, unforced poem of the heart. You know how to do it my friend.

"The truth shall set you free." I guess I've been set free! Beautiful piece, there are to lines that are just amazing and I felt the most from.
"But Time, she has no pity,
She grimly marches on. "
and
"So we write, we pray, we hope,
They wonder how we've been.
We tell ourselves they miss us
As the tears bleed from our pens. "

Really fabulous piece, I have felt every single feeling mentioned in it. Strait to the heart!

Right off, I did like the imagery in this poem. The final stanza was my favorite:

"So we write, we pray, we hope,
They wonder how we've been.
We tell ourselves they miss us
As the tears bleed from our pens"

The idea behind this poem is too true though. I personally find writing to be the perfect way to let it out. Nice job.
