A Million Prayers

A Million Prayers

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy

Miss me please, as I miss you.
Wonder if I'm well.
Think of me before you sleep,
Me, in my living Hell

Lie awake in peaceful dark.
Recall my warm embrace.
Think of moments spent with me,
A smile upon your face.

I know you're gone forever Love.
I'll hold you not again.
But foolishly, I hold out hope,
To write a kinder end.

In my end you stand there
And knock upon my door.
My faith rewarded, finally,
I hold you tight once more.

You look up as I hold you.
A tear slides down your cheek.
You start to say you're sorry
But I do not let you speak.

I hold a finger to your lips
And whisper "Not a word!"
It's then I know, my million prayers

Truly have been heard.

Perhaps it's timing, but this poem had me in tears. "I know you're gone forever love/I'l hold you not again/but foolishly I hold out hope/ to write a kinder end" Keep tuggin' on those heartstrings. The one's you love the most seems to have the strongest pull, even when they think they've let go. I know that desperate need to hold on to something that will never be. That song is all too familiar. Nice work, no suggestions, I think you said everything just right.

You've been around a long time. Sometimes I go back to the beginning. I like to have an idea, to read several pieces at once to get a feel for a new friend. If only . . . prayers were answered this way. Lovely, sad poem.

I really love this poem, the way it flows and
rhymes. And of course what you're saying.
Great write! It has so much feeling behind it.

A lovely poem, Jerry. I awarded you 2nd place in my contest. There were 110 contestants in all. So you should be proud. I loved the format of this poem. It rhymed and made sense. When I created this contest I wanted to hear poetry that conveyed emotion. You made me feel emotion. The desperation to somehow write a better ending. I saw this poem as a story unfolding. A man who loved deeply and his loss of a loved one, the need to be loved by the deceased, and for her to feel his grief and pain, to miss him too. His love so strong he changes the ending, bringing her back, if only just to embrace and hold her one last time. His prayers were answered....

BRAVO I loved it...

This is an amazing. Now it is my turn to be impressed. That is how I feel about my soul mate and
I have prayed those same prayers. Alas in my case I have made my decision and I know it is best for both of us. This is an awesome testimony of love. Great read.

Hi,

Wow, another great read. I like this poem. I think it pertains to writers because we always feel like we wish we could re-write our lives. haha:) But apart from that the tone is so sentimental and lonely. It's very good. I'd love to feature this poem as well.

Cheers
Holly
