A Million Prayers

A Million Prayers

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy

Miss me please, as I miss you.
Wonder if I'm well.
Think of me before you sleep,
Me, in my living Hell

Lie awake in peaceful dark.
Recall my warm embrace.
Think of moments spent with me,
A smile upon your face.

I know you're gone forever Love.
I'll hold you not again.
But foolishly, I hold out hope,
To write a kinder end.

In my end you stand there
And knock upon my door.
My faith rewarded, finally,
I hold you tight once more.

You look up as I hold you.
A tear slides down your cheek.
You start to say you're sorry
But I do not let you speak.

I hold a finger to your lips
And whisper "Not a word!"
It's then I know, my million prayers

Truly have been heard.

Perhaps it's timing, but this poem had me in tears. "I know you're gone forever love/I'l hold you not again/but foolishly I hold out hope/ to write a kinder end" Keep tuggin' on those heartstrings. The one's you love the most seems to have the strongest pull, even when they think they've let go. I know that desperate need to hold on to something that will never be. That song is all too familiar. Nice work, no suggestions, I think you said everything just right.

very loving and suprising Creeper. Fairytale endings are from the imagination of a romantic. This is very well expressed. I like!

Oh! A beautifully composed piece straight from the heart! Very sad, and tragically romantic...

The mixing of the two paths adds to the overall sadness presented in this particular piece. For not only are we hit with the initial loss of her not being there, but then we are shown the alternate path she does return. We feel the loss of her, and then we feel the illusion of her return, only to realize that she is not there - that a million prayers have sadly gone unanswered... that true stomping of the heart after it has been wrenched free from the chest and dropped to the floor. This is a painful read, thinking of those that we have lost in one manner or another in our own lives...

Wow, if we could all go back to that time of forgivness....if all could actually forgive. And then, to have one's prayers answered in the way we desire. This is a beauty. Nicely rhymed and written. :)

I like to go back to the beginning too, I see others have done the same. It's funny how we do that in an effort to see and know more, isn't it? Your poetry is absolutely breathtaking. I really cannot say I feel worthy to review it but am so glad to have the opportunity to read it.

This is fabulous....
