A Million Prayers

A Million Prayers

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy

Miss me please, as I miss you.
Wonder if I'm well.
Think of me before you sleep,
Me, in my living Hell

Lie awake in peaceful dark.
Recall my warm embrace.
Think of moments spent with me,
A smile upon your face.

I know you're gone forever Love.
I'll hold you not again.
But foolishly, I hold out hope,
To write a kinder end.

In my end you stand there
And knock upon my door.
My faith rewarded, finally,
I hold you tight once more.

You look up as I hold you.
A tear slides down your cheek.
You start to say you're sorry
But I do not let you speak.

I hold a finger to your lips
And whisper "Not a word!"
It's then I know, my million prayers

Truly have been heard.

Perhaps it's timing, but this poem had me in tears. "I know you're gone forever love/I'l hold you not again/but foolishly I hold out hope/ to write a kinder end" Keep tuggin' on those heartstrings. The one's you love the most seems to have the strongest pull, even when they think they've let go. I know that desperate need to hold on to something that will never be. That song is all too familiar. Nice work, no suggestions, I think you said everything just right.

what suckers we can be! rolling over that "happy ending" endlessly .... hope your subject truly does have his prayers answered ... you do a great job telling the story in rhyme and flow ... something i just cant commit to ... :)

I actually went through something similar. You can live out many worlds and many "ends" in imagination and fantasy - the Universal Mind is a powerful thing. I like your poem. It gives me a vivid picture yet leaves so much the imagination. I think it's great...

I really liked it. You do well with the rhyme and none of the flow is sacrificed. It didnt have a lot of teh suspense I expected but it was simple and good.

Wonderful Poem. Thank you for entering the 'Someone Special' Contest. I thought your poem flowed beautifully and the emotions were communicated very nicely. This is the sort of poem i could read over and over again.

Thanks

This flowed with grace, a tender expression of lost love truely beautiful.

A well constructed gem of a poem- The breezy greeting card pace and rhyme scheme creates a dichotomy of wistfulness and extreme loss which enhances the tone and effect of the poem. This piece pull at the heart and hits you in the gut. Excellent poetry...
