Smiles

Smiles

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy
"

Tinkering with words is all

"
Sometimes, I type a message
that I imagine will amuse you.
Then I imagine you smiling ...
then, I begin to smile.

I've seen many of your smiles.
I have seen your necessary,
perfunctory, snapshot smile.

I have seen your, easy, "just
hanging with my friends" smile.

And your Mona Lisa smile, soft,
yet sardonic and contemptuous.

And then there's that one smile,
that smile that comes bubbling
to your surface with your joy.

Yes, there's that one smile,
that's a very ... very good smile.

So much can be said with a smile. I haven't really thought about the different types of smiles but you've captured them here in your poem with your insightful observations. I do hope you are smiling too. I love the Mona Lisa smile:

And your Mona Lisa smile, soft,
yet sardonic and contemptuous.

You may be just tinkering around with words but it works quite well. ; )
