Jalopy

Jalopy

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy

Relationships are like an automobile.
When we are young, we are drawn by
the sleek lines and polished finish.
By the time we are old enough to
realize that we have rubbish beneath the
hood, we've sunk too much into it, and
we have to ride that son of a b***h until
it breaks down and leaves us alone on
the side of some dusty, desolate road.

sorry but this sad sad case has made me chuckle a bit at myself .. the miraculous thing is that no matter how desolate the road .. no matter how helpless things seem .. someone comes along to give us a lift back into town .. love this bit of poetry/prose ... a vignette of a life!

very much captures the reality of relationships that people don't want to face. (I really liked this piece, thank you)

:) We are all alone, deeply alone, whether we are alone or not.

What a perfect analogy. It's both amusing and visceral. You just don't know how it's going to turn out over the long haul.

This draws you in to relate your own car story :) And we can all add another line of our own lemon story. But maybe it would be about the discovery of a wonderful car dealership on the not so really desolate road. Oh well my friend.... We kick the fender, swear a couple times and try again....
