Folly

Folly

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy

Beauty can have years.
No ... beauty DOES have years ...
years spent being kind, being thoughtful,
and considering the feelings of others.
The folly of youth is in not knowing
these things ... in mistaking geometry
and topography for beauty.

love your "ten commandments". i can think of at least a half dozen "writers" who have consistently violated all of them. this poem is a treat, full of wisdom and cleverly penned. "Folly" is quite the apropos title indeed!

What is beautiful is often not merely what we see but what we feel when we see, touch or hear it. It is as you say so eloquently well below skin deep.

But luckily time teaches these things but coincidentally it steals the veneer from us in the very same proportions and rate.
