On The Nature of Prayer

On The Nature of Prayer

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy

Consciously I pray the right prayers. I pray not

for miracles, but for your strength, your peace.

But just beneath the surface, there flows another

current of supplication. Beneath the surface,

I implore the heavens for that which I should not.

Logic knows that lotto jackpots prayed for remain

un-won. But my heart knows of those who walked

away from downed planes, those who live day to day

with bullets within their brains. There are those

whose bodies know the code, that magic code that

stops the runaway monster that grows within them.

I pray that you will be that one or two percent.

and then the piece just gets into the heart of it...within the lines of this verse...you speak measures in the prayers of the wise...and in the end of this like your title says:

I pray that you will be that one or two percent.

Lots to think about...and in the end...all that matters is your health and another day to live...I always believe birthdays are a way to thank God...you have an extension to keep going on...

I stopped praying for anything other than strength years ago... Great piece of wisdom.

There is so much much kindness and concern in these words. I love the sentiment and how you crafted these words together.
