Horizons

Horizons

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy

The beautiful thing about life is

that there is always a horizon.

A place far off in the distance

where things look so much better,

a place that you want to get to.

"How is that good?" You may ask.

Always farther to go, always more

paddling like crazy to be done.

The thing is ... where you are right now

… used to be that far off horizon ...

from that place where you once stood.

Horizons are not unreachable.

i like to see hills on my horizon, they make me feel safe and right at home, i met a river once that could occupy my horizon some days, but i think today will see a transition to a self-imposed great wall of emily . . . maybe i'll wall the mountains in with me

Ah, this is beautifully said. I love it when you speak in your wise, encouraging voice. This is something I want to fold up, put in my pocket and take out when I need it. :)

Lofty, amazing thoughts.
Well written in a rather quiet voice, leaving such a good feeling for the reader.
A privilege to read.

Beautiful peaceful and lifting. I have an odd point of view regarding horizons. There are those here in the west that are ancient. They remind me of the bones of the earth....in some places horizons are terrifying - when you can see the curve of the earth and the storm coming...in others though they are as the poem above.
