The Clock Still Ticks

The Clock Still Ticks

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy

I feel my grasp slipping away and
I know now, that it will not hold forever.

No longer clinging to futile notions of immortality,
I embrace the tenuous nature of my existence.
It is time to live like a dog off it's leash.

Shall I write that novel or take that trip?
Or perhaps if I take up brush and easel
I can at last create that masterpiece.

Try to hide from mortality if you will.

But the clock still ticks.

Oh to live like a dog off it's leash! I want that ! I remember when I was a kid and thought when I grew up I'd be able to do whatever I wanted... All my illusions and delusions have been dashed. Love the poem. I am one with the poem lol.

Very powerful piece, it struck me... Makes you think about all the things you need/want to do before the 'end'... "But the clock still ticks".

Great write!

Why is it we realize this when we're near the end and not when we're at the beginning? Good piece.

article about the painting horse? Paints with the brush in it's teeth...now that's making good use of horse hair!
