Gone are the flip flops and the strappy tops, and back are
the hoodies and boots in their stead. The long sleeve tops return to their
rightful place. People no longer gathering
out under the umbrellas, instead they take refuge in the coffee shop and
library. Fewer trips are taken as people prepare for the oncoming battle of the
biting wind and freezing temperatures. But once inside the winter layers are
shed to reveal the summer of yesterday has not been forgotten. However, people
are beginning to accept it is no longer summer as they tone down the colours of
their garments. Although colour altogether is not forgotten as you see a stripe
of lilac in some ones jumper. But the
blacks and greys are making a comeback as are the navy blues. The latest trends
are influencing the mass colouration of people’s clothes as we press into
autumn. The bright pinks have been refined into rusty reds, orangy browns and
mustard yellow; as if following the colour change of the leaves. Which is another subtle transformation people
are starting to notice. The collection of leaves at the side of the curb grows,
as no longer are they permitted to rest peacefully in the tress. But instead
are swept along with the changing current of the wind.
