Little Girl Lost

Little Girl Lost

A Poem by The Lark
"

For a girl I knew

"

Speak in sotto voce for the little girl lost,

Bowing heads in sorrow when you come to see the cost.

Gather in ensemble to wait within the wings

For principles rehearsing lines the painful memory brings.

Harken take pity for the little girl found,

When midnight train would come to take her swiftly to the ground.

Only speculation gives us reason for her death,

Her tearful plans to meet that train head on before she left.

Softly weep and whisper now for little girl gone,

Hand in hand ascend the stage in aria forlorn.

As play reaches crescendo move to slowly close her eyes,

Finally at peace now the little girl lies.

This poem is very sad, but peaceful in the end. It is a macabre suicide, but your words beg great sympathy for the girl's lost soul.
