Sonnet of SpinA Poem by The LarkI'm experimenting with wordplay here, so it doesn't make much sense.
When world would turn contrary to my whim, The gravity resolved to ground me hence, My fixed feet remain lest I should spin In truth, a lie which break the earths defense. And spinning thus, the world begins to blur The lingered line dividing false from real. This body’s revolution moved to stir, The senses now incensed with awe unreal. Yet in this act, the twist, I may yet lose My footing, and so faltered I should fall. Thus lying once again, but left to bruise With only fleeting visions to recall. Take heed, while nothing ventured, nothing gained, A failed endeavor leaves the spirit stained. © 2010 The Lark |
