Glittering Vibrant

Glittering Vibrant

A Poem by The Lark
"

3am, couldn't sleep, wrote this instead.

"

The music, the poems, the silver screen
Have a magic, a life of their own,
When our eyes seem to show us a marble world
And it's tragic that life is such stone.

The minutes, the moments, the memories
Are so fleeting they're just as well gone,
Can we capture these fish from the roaring stream
When the tide takes them into the dawn?

And the heartbeats, the romance, the passion,
Is it all that we pictured in life?
Should we chance for a folly in fantasy
When such love isn't all in a wife.

Oh this knowledge, this feeling, a yearning,
Can you take me, the place where it shows?
Where the notes from piano eternally spring
On the cusp of a heaven that glows.

Meet me there, meet me glittering vibrant,
As the music and pictures collide
Into words, feelings, thoughts and all images
That surmise who we are deep inside.

I guess I'm something of an old-school poet. I always write with fixed meter and rhyme, and for the most part that's what I enjoying reading too. "I'd as soon write free verse as play tennis with th.. more..
