Bon Voyage to a Departed Soul

Bon Voyage to a Departed Soul

A Poem by The Golden Pen
"

I wrote this poem as a tribute to my Grandfather who died when I was 11.

"
Did the celestial curtains part,
The night the silent bells tolled for you?
Did they wheel a loaded Tea cart?
Did you meet the motley crew?

Did they roll out the red carpet at your feet?
Did they give you a hero's welcome?
What was your impression when you and God finally meet?
Did they sift your soul measuring its sum?

Where did you go on that fateful Eve--
The night the silent bells tolled for you?
I heard the bells but did not see you leave;
Looking up towards heaven I caught a partial view.

Through the star lit skies I saw a ghostly sphere
Shooting like moonbeams towards the stratosphere.
